Sagaing Region
Sagaing Region, formerly Sagaing Division) is located in the north-western part of the country, stretching from just west of Mandalay all the way up to the north west, bordering India's states of Nagaland and Manipur, with the Ayeyarwady River forming a greater part of its eastern and also southern boundary. The region has an area of 93,500 km² and a population of over 6.5 million. The capital is Sagaing, in the south eastern corner. Its flag is green with, in yellow, a “chinthe”, a lion-like temple guard and the region's name “Zegain Tain” above it in Burmese script
