Abruzzo
Abruzzi (Abruzzo) is a region in central Italy, its western border is less than 80 kilometres due east of Rome and it lies between Marche, Lazio, Molise and the Adriatic Sea. It is actually considered part of Southern Italy, a vestige of Abruzzo's historic association with the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies. Its capital is L'Aquila. A flag was adopted on 21 May 1999; it has a bright bordeaux background with a gold bordered shield in the centre: its colours stands for the snow, the woods and hills and the sea of Abruzzi.
