Marche
Marche is a hilly region in central Italy on the Adriatic coast, bordered by Emilia-Romagna, the republic of San Marino, Tuscany, Umbria, Abruzzo and Lazio. Its capital is Ancona. Its emblem was adopted on 15 March 1980: a white shield, bordered green, with a big black M in the middle; the left part represents a stylised woodpecker. The flag is white, with the emblem in the centre and the words Regione Marche in green above it.
