Gazimağusa (Famagusta), a walled city on the east coast
The three-arched entrance, all that remains of the Venetian governor’s palace (Palazzo del Proveditore) opposite the Cathedral of Saint Nicholas (now the Lala Mustafa Paşa mosque). It had been built around 1550 but was largely destroyed by the Ottomans.
