St Francis Church, Famagusta

The ruins of St Francis church, originally part of a Franciscan monastery, alongside the Royal Palace, later the Venetian Palace. It was the most important church of the Franciscan order in Famagusta and built in the early years of the 14th century with funding supplied by Henry II, King of Cyprus, who reigned from 1285 to 1324.
