Dancers performing a Spanish-inspired dance with rapid foot tapping during the Pujllay festival in Tarabuco, Bolivia. They then all move to the festival grounds where a large wooden tower (the “pukara”) has been erected, covered and surrounded to its top with bread, fruit and a baked sweet called “rosquetes” among others; it is an offering to “Pachamama”, Mother Earth, and its fertility. There is dancing by the various groups, picnics and ice cream!
