The iNcwala or First Fruits Ceremony in 1974-75
“Bemanti” or “men of the water” marching in Manzini, central Swaziland; the bemanti fetch water from the sea and the major Swazi rivers, to be used in the iNcwala, the most important Swazi ceremony. They wear a distinctive headdress and carry shields, spears and fighting sticks.
