Bhaktapur, Nepal’s best-preserved old city
The Bhairavnath Temple on the southeastern side of Taumadhi Square, dedicated to Lord Bhairav, the most ferocious form of Lord Shiva. Originally the temple, built by King Jagat Jyoti Malla, had just one storey. In 1717 two more storeys were added by King Bhupatindra Malla.
