South Hamgyeong Province
The South Korean assigned flag of Hamgyeongnam-do, “South Hamgyeong Province”, according to South Korean law a province of the Republic of Korea, but in reality corresponding to North Korea’s South Hamgyong Province, as well as parts of Ryanggang Province, Chagang Province, Kangwon Province and China's Jilin Province. As South Korea does not recognise changes in administrative divisions made by North Korea, official South Korean government shows maps maintain pre-1945 borders. The province's name is inscribed in Korean Han'gul characters.
