Palazzo dei Cavalieri

The Palazzo dei Cavalieri on the beautiful square Piazza del Cavalieri in Pisa, by the 16th Century architect Vasari. It is decorated with busts of the Grand masters of the Knights of St. Stephen, a religious and military order founded by Cosimo I de' Medici. This square was the political centre in medieval Pisa.
