Pompeii

Cupid statue, Pompeii

A bronze statue of a cupid, portrayed as a little boy with a bunch of grapes and a goose, in the garden of the House of the Vettii, one of the most famous of the luxurious residences (domus) preserved in Pompeii. The house is named for its owners, two successful freedmen: Aulus Vettius Conviva, an Augustalis (an order of Roman priests), and Aulus Vettius Restitutus.
