Basilicata
Basilicata, also known as Lucania, is a region in the south of Italy, between Campania, Apulia (Puglia) and Calabria; its coastline on the Tyrrhenian Sea is the “instep” of the “boot” of Italy. The regional capital is Potenza. On 6 April 1999 Basilicata adopted a blue flag with the coat of arms of the region in the centre, a gold-bordered white shield with four blue waves, representing the four major rivers of the region: Basenot, Agri, Bradano and Sinni.
