Puglia
Apulia (Puglia) is a region in Southern Italy on the Adriatic Sea; its most southern portion forms the heel on the “boot” of Italy. The capital is Bari. The coat of arms and flag were adopted on 8 September 1988; the flag is white with a green and red stripe, the Italian colours. The blue coat of arms displays in a red-bordered white octagon an olive tree; it has a gold band with five “bezants” (coins), surmounted by a golden crown and the words “Regione Puglia” in gold.
