Somali National Regional State, 2018

The Somali Region, the second largest and easternmost of the ten regions of Ethiopia, has an area of about 327,000 km². Its capital is Jijiga, and the state covers much of the traditional territory of Ogaden. Its flag is based on that of the Western Somalia Liberation Front. It was changed in 2008 but reinstated in 2018. It features, on a green-white-red tricolour, a blue triangle with a white star at the hoist, rotated to point at the fly.
