Harari National Regional State
The Harari Region is the homeland of the Harari people, the smallest regional state of Ethiopia, surrounded by the Oromiya State, in the east of the country. The total area is 334 km², and its capital is Harar. Its white flag features a red stripe, symbolising the struggle and sacrifice made by the Harari people for their rights and freedom, and a green stripe, denoting agriculture. The state emblem in the centre displays a pigeon, scales, a plough and the sun rising over a “Jogul”, city gate. Around it is a coffee branch, wheat and a cogwheel, symbolising agriculture and industry.
