The west of North Cyprus
Entrance to the Basilica of St. Auxibius of Soli (Soloi), looking towards the altar; the site is elaborate with at last four rebuilds. Basilica A was a timber church of the later fourth century, paved almost entirely with mosaics, as is still visible. It was replaced by basilica B, paved with ‘opus sectile’, segmented stone tiles with a variety of geometric patterns and dating to the sixth century.
