The west of North Cyprus
The Basilica of Soli or Soloi, an ancient Greek city south-west of Morphou (Güzelyurt), on the coast in the Gulf of Morphou; it dates back to about the 6th century BCE. It was one of the most important capitals of Cyprus until it was destroyed during Arab attacks in the 7th century CE and abandoned. What remains today is mainly from the Roman period, most notably the mosaic floor of the basilica.
