Santiago de Cuba, the second-largest Cuban city
The 16 metre high equestrian statue by sculptor Alberto Lescay of Lt. General José Antonio de la Caridad Maceo y Grajales (1845 – 1896) who was second-in-command of the Cuban Army of Independence; nicknamed the “Bronze Titan”, he was one of the most noteworthy guerrilla leaders. It is on Antonio Maceo Revolution Square, at the entrance of the city of Santiago de Cuba.
