Aboriginal Dancing in the Northern Territory
The “Jurntu Purlapa”, a corroborree from the Warlpiri people of the Western Desert, in which a strange recurring dream of one of the men was acted out. The dancers are decorated with “wamurlu”, chopped vegetable down coloured with red ochre and the headdresses built up on the head from twigs or paperbark (nowadays sometimes cardboard!) and string made from human hair.
