The Frisian Wadden Islands

Oosterburen, Midsland

Oosterburen, the main street in the village of Midsland, at, as the name implies, the centre of the inhabited part of Terschelling. The village has around 880 inhabitants and is unique on Terschelling in that no Frisian is spoken here, but instead a Dutch dialect, MIdslands or Meslanzers. The village name in this dialect is Meslons.
