Leeuwarden, the Capital of Friesland
The Nieuw Sint Anthonygasthuis (New Saint Anthony Almshouse), built in 1864 by architect Frederik Stoett in a “rake” form, with four wings facing south east, the end villas serving as residences for wealthier residents. The less prosperous were assigned simpler rooms on the corridors in the wings.
