Curaçao Coat of Arms

Curaçao Coat of Arms

Curaçao’s Coat of Arms displays a vertically divided shield; at left is a ship under full sail, taken from the arms of the Dutch West India Company, representing trade; at right is a “Pomerans” citrus tree, laden with Curaçao-oranges. Superimposed is the arms of the city of Amsterdam, which bought the island from the West India Company. The crown above the shield expresses the link with the Dutch royal family.
