Samarkand: towards the outskirts
The Mausoleum Ishratkhana, possibly a burial place for of women of aristocratic origin. According to legend, Timur's grandson Ulugh Beg discovered that according to horoscope, his grandfather was at risk during a feast here. He rushed into the hall with a sword and forced the participants of the feast to run away. When the last emir left the room, a devastating earthquake brought down the arches of Ishratkhana exactly where Timur and his guests had been a moment ago. The building was never repaired again.
