Golden Horde, 1313 - 1341

Banner of the Golden Horde, originally a Mongol and later Turkicized khanate that was established in the 13th century in the northwestern sector of the Mongol Empire and including Khwarezm, the most western part of present-day Uzbekistan; it reached its zenith during the rule of Sultan Mohammed Öz Beg, better known as Uzbeg or Ozbeg, 1313 - 1341; his name could also be the origin of “Uzbek”. It displays the “tamga”, (seal or emblem) and the crescent symbol of Islam.
