Presidential Standard, 1923

The Presidential Standard of the Republic of Turkey is the National Flag, with the Presidential Seal in the Upper hoist. The Seal is, on a red background, a large 16-pointed Sun which symbolises the Republic of Turkey, surrounded by 16 five-pointed stars, symbolising the 16 Great Turkish Empires in history. It is the oldest presidential seal in the world still in use.
