The People of Swaziland
Howard Dlamini in Swazi traditional dress, wearing “emahiya”, the wraparound cloth, and “emajobo”, the deerskin cover front and back. He carries a “sakila” or knobkerrie stick and wears a single feather of the “ligwalagwala” bird, denoting links with the Swazi Royal family, in his hair. His wife is wearing the traditional “sidvwaba” skin skirt underneath her “emahiya” and has the traditional “sicolo” beehive hairstyle of a married woman. They flank their son Njabulo and daughters Khanyisile and Makhosazana, at home in Sidvwashini township, Mbabane.
