An iNtfwasa graduation Ceremony in 1972 - Day 2

During the “kufemba” or “smelling out” ritual performed by the “bogobela” or senior “tangoma” or diviners on the newly graduated tangoma they “smell out” an evil spirit body residing inside their bodies. They seem to attack the patient when such a spirit is found and must be hauled off. They then “sneeze” the spirit body out.
