The iNcwala or First Fruits Ceremony in 1974-75
Young men and boys throw their “lusekwane”, the shrubs they collected, on a pile. These will be used to cover the “inhlambelo”, the sacred enclosure in the Royal cattle byre of Lobamba. They have marched for hours, collected the shrubs at night and returned early morning.
