German Samoa Arms 1914

German Samoa Arms 1914

A Coat of Arms for German Samoa was proposed in 1914 and consisted of a shield depicting three palms on islands in the ocean, surmounted by the “Reichsadler”, the Imperial Eagle. It was surmounted by a scroll with “Samoa” in Gothic script although another variant depicted the Imperial crown. World War I broke out before the project was finalised, and the arms were never actually used.
