Theatre Performances in Mandalay

Moustache Brothers

Lu Zaw, Lu Maw and Par Par Lay the three “Moustache Brothers”, known for their live shows combining comedy, classic Burmese dancing and satirical criticism of the Burmese regime. Lay and Zaw served almost six years of a sentence to seven years in labour camp for this when in 1996 they performed at the home of Aung San Suu Kyi. After their release the regime has tolerated their performances at their home, provided it is only for foreigners and in English.
