Monasteries in Myanmar
Botataung Paya near the river, one of the three big pagodas of Yangon (Rangoon), said to contain hair relics of the Buddha. The pagoda was first built by the Mon around the same time as was Shwedagon Pagoda, over 2500 years ago, according to local belief. It was completely destroyed during World War II, and rebuilt after the war.
