Mandalay, the last Royal Capital

Atumashi Kyaung

The restored Atumashi Kyaung, a monastery originally built in 1857 by King Mindon. It was looted following the British takeover in 1885 and it burned down in 1890. It was rebuilt in 1996 by convict labour.
