View, Tövkhön Khiid

Overlooking Tövkhön Khiid Monastery, rebuilt with metal roofing in the early 1990s. It had been founded in 1653 by Undur Geghen Zanabazar, the first spiritual head of Tibetan Buddhism for the Khalkha Mongols; it was destroyed during the purges in 1937.
