View towards Prishtina, about 5 kilometres away, from the top of the Gazimestan monument, commemorating the Battle of Kosovo on 15 June 1389, that took place about 6-7 kilometres southeast of the actual battlefield, known as Kosovo Polje, the Kosovo field. On the right, about 80 metres away, is the tomb of the “Bayraktarlar”, the flagbearers of Sultan Murad I, who died with him during the battle.
