Gjakova, in western Kosovo
Transporting wood by horse cart, past the Bektashi Tekke (Teqja e Bektashinjevë) along Rruga Qazim Bakalli, Gjakova. It was built in 1790 in the Big Bazaar complex; being the first of its kind, this Tekke represented the Tarikat Bektashi. It was destroyed by the Serbian military forces during the Kosovo War in 1999. Thousands of books, including fifty-eight manuscripts, were burned, as the whole structure was destroyed. The Bektashi Tekke was reconstructed between 2004 and 2006 so that believers would be able to perform their spiritual rituals.
