The Jongmyo Daeje Ceremony, Seoul

Jongmyo Jerye

The first rites of the Jongmyo Jerye ceremony, performed at the Yeongnyeongjeon (Hall of Eternal Peace) in the early afternoon. Jongmyo Jaeryeak, the musical part of the ceremony, is produced by instruments including this “Jingo”, a large barrel drum.
