60th Birthday celebration display

Display of a “Hwangap”, a traditional 60th birthday celebration, National Folk Museum. The number 60 means accomplishing one big circle in the traditional 60 year calendar cycle of the lunar calendar and starting another one in one's life. Traditionally the children would organise a big party with lots of food, beautifully arranged in a table set called Gobaesang.
