Tripitaka Koreana hall

Haeinsa Temple Janggyeong Panjeon, the Depositories for the Tripitaka Koreana Woodblocks, containing the whole of the Buddhist Scriptures carved onto 81,340 wooden printing blocks. The four buildings, constructed in the 15th century in the traditional style of the early Joseon period, were specially designed to provide natural ventilation and to modulate temperature and humidity and preserved the woodblocks for some 500 years from rodent and insect infestation.
