Cheomseongdae

Cheomseongdae, meaning “star-gazing tower” in Korean, the oldest surviving observatory in East Asia. it was constructed between 632 and 646 CE and its number of stones symbolise the number of days and months in a year, while the position in relation to certain stars is also relevant. It is in Wolseong Park, south east of central Gyeongju.
