South Pyeongan Province
The South Korean assigned flag of Pyeongannam-do, “South Pyeongan Province”, according to South Korean law a province of the Republic of Korea, but in reality corresponding to North Korea’s South Pyongan Province, Pyongyang Directly Governed City and Nampo Special City. As South Korea does not recognise changes in administrative divisions made by North Korea, official South Korean government shows maps maintain pre-1945 borders. The province's name is inscribed in Korean Han'gul characters.
