Changdeokgung Palace, Seoul

Inside Huijeongdang

The interior of Huijeongdang, now with western furnishings, glass windows, electric lights and baroque-style furniture, reconstructed after it was burned down in 1917. The original served as the “Pyeonjeon”, a place of work for the king and his bed chambers in Changdeokgung Palace. It was reconstructed with materials from the king's residence that was dismantled at Gyeongbokgung Palace and is entirely different from the original.
