Changdeokgung Palace, Seoul

Injeongjeon and courtyard

The Injeongjeon, the main hall of the Changdeokgung Palace where the king and officials would gather for conferences and receive foreign envoys. In front of the hall, rebuilt in 1609, is an area of symbolic value with a royal walkway and a courtyard with stone markers inscribed with the ranks of each court official. A terraced garden is at the back, leading towards Maebong Peak.
