Duomo façade

The upper façade of the 13th century Duomo of Siena. Parts of the façade were restored and reorganised in 1866-69 by Giuseppe Partini. The large round window is surrounded by busts of 36 patriarchs and a statue of the Madonna and Child. The 19th-century mosaics depicting the Coronation of the Virgin were added during extensive restoration work.
