Eternal Rome, Italy’s capital

Palazzo della Civiltà, EUR

View to the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana (Palazzo della Civiltà del Lavoro), the most iconic building of EUR (originally called E42), now a residential and business district south of Rome’s city centre. The area was originally chosen in 1930s as the site for the 1942 world's fair which Benito Mussolini planned to open to celebrate twenty years of Fascism; EUR stands for Esposizione Universale Roma. The planned exhibition never took place due to World War II.
