Eternal Rome, Italy’s capital
A political demonstration in front of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels and the Martyrs (Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri), a titular basilica church in Rome, dedicated to Christian martyrs. It is built inside the frigidarium (the room with a large cold pool) of the Baths of Roman Emperor Diocletian on the Piazza della Repubblica. In the foreground is the Fountain of the Naiads, representing four water nymphs, by Mario Rutelli, a Sicilian sculptor, dating back to the late 19th century.
