Pompeii

Termopolion of Asellina

A well-preserved tavern in Pompeii, with a masonry counter which contained terra-cotta vessels for storing cooked meals. Asselina's tavern still has its wine amphorae, names of women written on the walls and cublicles upstairs, suggesting customers were offered other attractions apart from drink.
