Cattedrale di San Giusto Martire

The Cathedral of San Giusto Martire, (Basilica cattedrale di San Giusto Martire), dedicated to Saint Justus, a Roman Catholic cathedral and the main church of Trieste; it is the seat of the Bishop of Trieste. The present church dates to the 14th century; its façade is adorned with a Gothic rose window. The bell tower incorporates the remains of the Roman propylaeum. The niche contains a fourteenth-century sculpture of Saint Justus holding a martyr's palm and a model of the walled city he protects.
