Naples, city below a volcano
The triumphal arch at the entrance of Castel Nuovo, also known as Maschio Angioino, on Piazza Municipio. It was built in 1467 and depicts Alfonso I of Aragon's triumphal entry into Naples. It is the main symbol of the architecture of the city, and has been expanded or renovated several times since it was first begun by Charles I of Anjou in 1279.
