Imperial Rome, past glory
Remains of the great palaces on Palatine Hill, that became the residence of the emperors of Rome. According to Roman mythology, this hill was the location of the cave, known as the Lupercal, where Romulus and Remus were found by the she-wolf that kept them alive. Recent excavations show that people have lived there since approximately 1000 BCE, making this the origin of Rome.
