Sicilia
Sicily (Sicilia) is the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea and an autonomous region of Italy. Its capital is Palermo. The flag of Sicily, first adopted in 1282, has a triskelion (trinacria) in the shape of three bent human legs, allegedly representing the three points of the island, in its centre, with the (winged) head of Medusa and three wheat ears. The flag is bisected diagonally into red and yellow: red representing the municipality of Palermo, yellow for Corleone, an important city in the middle ages.
